Branding Revolve Detroit
Detroit Economic Growth Corporation
Challenge
The Detroit Economic Growth Corporation (DEGC) was poised to launch a new pop-up retail program designed to help reintroduce a locally based commercial presence into many of Detroit’s historic neighborhoods. The program would focus on collaboration between building owners,
entrepreneurs and community leaders and help curtail retail leakage.
Solution
We began by leading a discovery and branding session with key DEGC members. This resulted in a concensus on the creative direction and finalization of the program’s name. From there we created the logo, tag line, and program launch materials. We also provided a social media strategy, a retailers marketing toolkit, a resource guide, guerrilla marketing, signage and
a new CMS-based website. The resulting brand identity for REVOLVE Detroit is upbeat, approachable and easy to employ where needed. The toolkit and program was designed to move from neighborhood to neighborhood.
Result
REVOLVE Detroit has seen tremendous success in the West Village and the same program was also utilized for the Livernois’ historic avenue of fashion. Many of the program’s initial pop-up retailers have moved in to available retail space on a more permanent basis. Micheal Forsyth, the program’s head, has expressed his appreciation for the site, “I love the website, the logo! The full program has been a great success.” Michael Forsyth
