Community Action Agency Rebranding

OLHSA, A Community Action Agency

Challenge:

Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency (OLHSA) provides dozens of services to assist families and individuals to succeed. Their services address specific needs in Oakland and Livingston County communities.
OLHSA was seeing the beginning of budget cutting in 2010 and wanted to update their image to create awareness and help solicit donations from the private sector. They had over 84 programs, 300 employees and multiple departments with no consistent standard of communications. Individuals coming to OLHSA for assistance were sometimes overwhelmed by the complexity of all the services and programs being offered.

Solution:
After going through the branding process with stakeholders, management and employees, Trent Creative developed a brand that aligned with OLHSA’s internal restructuring and new intake process that began at the “The Welcome Center.”  The name was shortened from Oakland Livingston Human Services Agency and a new logo was designed along with an accompanying style guide for all of the departments to ensure consistency in its use throughout all communications. A website was redesigned and developed to be user friendly and informational based upon the newly restructured intake process.

Results:
“I am just writing you to let you know how much I liked OLHSA’s website and how user friendly it was for me to find information... I have worked with a lot of different Community Action Agency’s throughout 3 states and I thought this to be the easiest to find information on what you provide and it was easy for me to contact people without sending a generic email that someone would point me in the direction of who I needed to contact.”
